We own Casa Feliz because we love the Florida Keys. And what isn't to love?! Sunshine, blue skies, warm temperatures, and water views everywhere make this place so amazing to visit. Here are some of our faves that we enjoy doing when we come into town for a visit:
1. Watching sunsets. Sunsets are a huge thing in the Florida Keys. If you haven’t seen one you are totally missing out. They are glorious. Many places in the Keys offer a daily sunset viewing. #floridakeyssunsets
2. Viewing wildlife. There is some unique wildlife in the Keys. You will see a good variety of birds at Casa Feliz, nurse sharks while sitting on the pier, and colorful iguanas wandering about. #floridakeyswildlife
3. Saving turtles. We love our sea turtles here in the Keys and we especially love when they can go back home to the sea after a recovery at The Turtle Hospital. A viewing of a turtle release is highly recommended. #theturtlehospital
4. Cable wakeboarding. Just 1/2 mile down the road from Casa Feliz is The Lagoon, which has some fun and unique things to do. Along with cable wakeboarding, there is the Rhum Runner Aqua Park and Bongo's Botanical Beer Garden, which has frequent live music and yard games to play. #keyscable
5. Swimming with dolphins. Even less than 1/2 mile down the road is the world-famous Dolphin Research Center. It’s a legit dolphin research center where you can learn a ton and you even swim with them too!
6. Walking the bridge. Five miles from Casa Feliz is the Long Key Bridge. It’s a 2.5 mile long bridge that’s also popular for fishing. Being surrounded by the sun and the water is heavenly. #longkeybridge
7. Going jet skiing. Less than 1/2 mile from Casa Feliz is the Grassy Key Marina. You can rent jet skis there and have an exciting time on the water. #grassykeymarina
8. Going kayaking. This is an activity that you can do right from the Casa Feliz beach. A quiet and relaxing activity for the afternoon. It’s also fun to paddle to the Grassy Key sandbar from Curry Hammock State Park, which is just under 2 miles away from the house. #curryhammockstatepark
